To smell the rain, before it comes, as it rains, or just after. No, not really a scratch and sniff, but maybe, just maybe, You can feel the rain in the air!

This painting is about mood, or feeling, but that is too limited. It is about the full on assault on our senses that a fresh rain shower produces. As if we were plants, we become more awake, more alive with anticipation of the soft gentle shower falling from the previously distant skies.

Photo realism can capture the falling rain. But here’s hoping impressionism will bring you more, maybe even a wish you were there – smelling the rain.
